Started on a Coen Brothers fuelled film-fest last night with Blood Simple, an edgy, noir-styled, twisting thriller. Tonight I continued the Coen Bros. theme by watching the enigmatic but hugely entertaining, Barton Fink. Great films and both slide snugly into the top drawer of my favourite films filing cabinet.

Not sure whether to continue that trend later tonight by watching The Hudsucker Proxy or perhaps to leave that until tomorrow evening. Incidentally all these films are available as part of the Coen Brothers Collection box-set which I recently acquired, the fantastic Big Lebowski completing an excellent quartet.

Think I might just see if I can’t grab a couple more titles from the January sales and go all Coen flavoured right through into the New Year.

Back to playing Deus-Ex 2 on the old Xbox then…

Perhaps today IS a good day to Die!

Rah today was fun, Work was absolutely manic but I gots paid last night for the first time in ages and now I have two days off! Earlier today I went shopping at work for a few select titles including Napoelan Dynamite, Gross Pointe Blank, Layer Cake and I finally got around to purchasing Trainspotting as well.

As if that wasn’t enough I also went mad in Boots grabbing all my King of Shaves gear for the ‘perfect shaving experience’ although I have just realised I forgot to get blades for my razor, Doh! as well as other much needed supplies.

Finally my flatmates from the first year of Uni have just informed me they are coming to Portsmouth for New Years Eve so I’ve now got that to look forward to as well. I also bumped into another couple at work who informed me they were looking to emigrate to Canada and I took that as a sign to get off my ass and start looking into a move myself. Phew! Now to relax and grab some chow :)

So foul and fair a day I have not seen.

Mixed bag really - On the plus side I started a new job at HMV over xmas so I will get some money finally and I’ve moved into my new place, but on the down side I split up with my girlfriend of about 3 years… Ah well back onto the meat market I go. Good job I started dieting, quit smoking (again) and have been doing loads of walking since now I’m back in trim in time for the bachelor life.

Seen loads of films (including Together by lucas moodyson - excellent, and Elephant by Gus Van Sant - also a good un) and read tons of books including ‘The Time Travellers Wife’ which you should all rush out and buy if you have not read it already (it rocks). Oh I kinda like the kaiser chiefs new album although hearing it on repeat all last week at HMV means i’ll probably not buy it just yet as I’m all played out.

So if you have any unmarried daughters/sisters (Single MILF’s accepted too) you want to move out then send their details (including vital statisitics and a recent high res picture - prefer nudes) to my address.

Peace.
x

P.S. I’m too tired to link everything - learn to use google. kthxbye.

I’m Back… Soon!

Hey all, sorry it’s been so long between posts but I’ve been so busy trying to sort my life out that I’ve not had the time or inclination to write anything in here - besides I don’t really want to bum anyone out when reading through my insane witterings. Basically I was domicile-less for a while and I’ve been crashing at a mates house. Fine for me, considering I don’t have much cash atm but it must be less than fine for poor Adam who has lost his couch to me for the last few weeks. Anyway the good news is that I should be all sorted out soon.

I have a job interview in an hour, I’m going to see my girlfriend for the first time in nearly 2 months next Monday and I move in to a new place on the 14th of November. Just so you know I have not been bumming around the entire time since I moved out of my last place, I’ve shot two seperate videos (a Musical on Nelson and a talk on Mervyn Peake) and spent most of my spare time in between job-hunting and editing. I also read Catch 22 (Hilarious) and have watched a plethora of films including Velvet Goldmine, Dogville, the Silence of the Lambs(again), Team America (again)Rosemarys Baby and a host of others (many starring the lovely Patricia Arquette by some bizzare twist of fate). Also what with no pc, no internet, no guitar and none of my things, I have been watching way too much TV something I really look forward to fixing once I move into the new place.

Anyway, just so you know I should be somewhat more visible come the 14th of November!

Napoleon, don’t be jealous that I’ve been chatting online with babes all day.

Very busy at the moment trying to get work and a place to stay long term. I have spent the last few days living at a friends house but I would like to be able to get my gear out of storage soon and move into a new place, anyway if I don’t have too many updates in here for a while you will know why.

Watched a bunch of films recently including Team America and Napolean Dynamite.

Just finished watching Spider by David Cronenberg (one of my favourite directors). However Spider is very different (and possibly superior) to the other Cronenberg films I am fond of.

Spider by David Cronenberg

I was captivated from the very first minute of footage. The film is wonderfully shot with interesting use of contrast and angle making it visually intricate and the narrative is likewise suitably endowed. While just short of masterpiece it’s easily one of the best films I have seen in a long time. I won’t give anything away but if you are afraid of spiders and the title puts you off watching it I can reveal that there is nary a spider to be found.

The sad thing is I have had the film itself since around April and only just got around to watching it. Although I had my eye on it for some time previous a region 2 print of the DVD had proven elusive. Anyway I have to reccomend it to all and sundry as a result of watching it tonight. Easily soaring into my top 50… nay top 25 films of all time as does my already high opinion of Cronenberg himself.

Stay here with me. We’ll start a jazz band.

Eventually watched LIT again after going on about it last week, it’s good but I think that it is relegated to the ‘only watch with someone who hasn’t seen it before’ shelf. In other news I updated the website again - Surprise… I got a new webcam so I added the webcam code back up which had been down for 2 years. Stay tuned for fascinating low-res, high-noise pictures of Y.T.

Now I go back to watching ST Voyager. Tuvok owns you.
